Otto is still ill...

Not good news for Otto. On my way to a vet who can perform surgery to find why intestines seem blocked. Crap. Much needed prayers...

Just had a load of clean sand delivered to full in the dirt/mud hole. The girls are trying to dig to China. Otto is at least put getting fresh air but still not playing it eating. And he is usually 100% on or off.

...Otto being prepped for exploratory surgery. My adorable boy is very sick and probably because he ate something he shouldn't have. He is such a trooper though. The vets thought he seemed fine because he was acting like a normal quiet polite dog....not realizing he would normally be very over reactive and wild. As nice as this quiet behavior is....I want my real dog back...no matter how wild he can be.

...Otto is my heart dog. He loves deep and I love him the same. Sitting in a restaurant waiting to hear something trying to stay positive....

...Otto did not have an obstruction. He has PARVO! Could have knocked me over with a feather when I heard that. Otto had three sets of parvo shots and the last one was at 5 months. Luckily, the vet saw that the intestines weren't as inflamed and bloody as normally with parvo. He has no fever and had no diahrrea, although when the vet saw and smelled the diahrrea in his intestinal tract, he suspected Parvo. He hasn't even been out of the yard except on Wednesday nights for his classes and it usually doesn't take a week to show up. We are really stumped. Sure wish they would have tested him BEFORE opening him up. They sent him home after giving him lots of fluids. He goes back tomorrow to get back on IV fluids for the day. I feel so bad for my little big man who is usually so machismo.

A HUGE thank you to everyone for your prayers, thoughts and sentiments. We still need them...

...And the test was a STRONG positive, even with hardly any symptoms. Very weird...

...I know there are some companies that guarantee their PARVO vaccines but haven't talked to the vet who administered the last two. She is a holistic vet who believes in vaccines but uses the kind that have the least side effects. Unfortunately, she is on maternity leave and it is her practice.... frown-emoticon
